The LA Times reports that a newly built spec house in the Holmby Hills neighborhood has sold for $100 million — tying the recent deal for the Playboy Mansion as the most expensive residential sale ever in Los Angeles County. The buyer is said to be Tom Gores, the owner of the Detroit Pistons.
Listed in April for $150 million, the more than two-acre estate was built on the grounds of Barbra Streisand’s former “Mon Rêve” estate. Developer Gala Asher purchased the property as a vacant lot two years ago for $13.25 million, records show.
Completed this year, the sprawling contemporary-style home offers some 30,000 square feet of interior space with 10 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms spread across the main residence and several guest houses.
